Born in Boulder, CO in 2010, Keef grew and expanded organically over the next ten years, opening bottling lines for cannabis beverages in seven states. In anticipation of an entry into the California market and beyond, the Keef team wanted to re-think the brand platform and design system. We started by reconsidering the brand story. If beverage was the most socially acceptable way to consume cannabis, we could simply associate it with normalized behavior. “Add some elevation to celebration” became the rallying cry that led to a hand-lettered logo, a new typeface, a brand system, and bespoke artwork for packaging rolled out across four lines of Keef beverages and vape products.
Avery’s Trail approached Telegrafik to assist with the creation of La Bafana – a new limited time promotional seasonal gin, which embodied the spirit of the infamous Italian Christment witch by the same name. According to the tradition, La Befana is said to visit children on the night of January 5th (the night before the Feast of the Epiphany) to fill their stockings with gifts and sweets if they have been good or with coal if they have been naughty.
Avery’s is a company proud to be female-owned and operated by a strong group of female entrepreneurs at the helm. We chose to celebrate La Befana as a strong, empowered personality reflecting the culture and values of the company, which led to a host of fantastic ideas for new promotional products.
